The final of the Fred Conway County Cup has been arranged for Tuesday April 21 at Penrith’s Frenchfield.
Holders Carlisle City, of the Northern League, will take on the Westmorland League’s Kirkoswald with a 7.30pm kick-off.
Kirkoswald had lost 5-0 to Workington Reds in the semi-final – also played at Frenchfield – but the Northern Premier League side were dismissed from the competition foir fielding an ineligible player.
Dan Kirkup, the Carlisle City manager, said: “I was looking forward to going up against the Reds because their manager Billy Barr is a former coach of mine and a good friend.
“But full marks to Kirkoswald – they had beaten Carlisle United in the previous round so are clearly a good side.”
Carlisle City beat Penrith 1-0 last season to win the trophy while Kirkoswald have reached the final for the first time.
