Police have urged people to look out for each other at the third and final game of the Uppies & Downies series in Workington.
The mass no rules football game – which sees Uppies try to get a specially made leather ball to Workington Hall and Downies to Workington harbour – starts at 6.30pm today, April 11, from the Cloffocks.
Allerdale police said: “Partner agencies and officers will be out across Workington today to help keep everyone safe for the third Uppies and Downies.”
It asked people to:
- Look after each other in the crowds
- Stay aware of your surroundings
- Take extra care near water and uneven ground
- Consider were you are parking to avoid damage to vehicles
Parents and carers have been asked to speak to young people about staying safe.
