A Lake District mountain rescue team was called out to help a walker after his boots fell apart.
The man was descending Scafell Pike when his boots started to fall apart and he found himself walking in bare feet and getting cold.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team responded to the walker, who was just below Sty Head, on Saturday April 11 at 7.26pm.
The team had a brief wind-interrupted phone call with the man and his party and managed to establish that his group was still moving.
A phone find was carried out which pinpointed the man and his group at a location the rescue team know as the ‘1000ft boulder’.
Rescuers headed out in a small team with a pair of spare boots and found the man and his group well below Stockley Bridge.
The party was then walked back to their vehicle.
The call out lasted two hours and nine minutes and involved 10 team members.
