Keswick got their first win of 2026 on Saturday to earn a semi-final place in the Cumberland County League’s Cup 2 competition.

It’s for clubs in the bottom four of the Premier Division and the top four of Division One.

Keswick and Cockermouth reserves finished all square at 2-2 but it was the Lakes side who came out on top in the penalty shoot-out by 4-3.

They will play Cleator Moor Celtic reserves in the semi-final, which will be a clash between the two sides going down at the end of the season – a chance for compensation for one of them.

The other knock-out game on Saturday was in the Whitehaven Cup and a single goal from Olly Woodruff earned Northbank a 1-0 win at Wigton Harriers.

With both leagues virtually wrapped up now, clubs are completing their fixtures in the Premier Division and Division One.

Maryport Athletic are going to finish runners-up after losing their Premier Division title and they beat Mirehouse 3-0 in their penultimate game.

Ryan Porter, Cameron Carter and Ciaran Laverty scored the goals.

Whitehaven Miners Social are just three points behind in third and they had a good 5-3 home win over Workington Juniors.

Owen Woods (2-1 pen), Nathan Walkinshaw, Aidan Graham and Jay Connor scored the goals while the Juniors replied through Chad Grisdale, Connor Hammell and Harry Watson.

Cleator Moor Celtic reserves have been bottom all season but they have put some better performances together recently and in the latest one they shared the spoils 2-2 with Aspatria.

Josh Charlton and Ben Whitworth were their goal-scorers with Logan Dixon and Andrew Trestianu responding for Aspatria.

In Division One champions Dearham United won 2-0 at Windscale reserves with goals from Olly Scott and Danny Dryden. Kieran Fraser netter for the Atoms.

Chris Armstrong scored both goals as Bransty Rangers won 2-0 at Unisun Development.

Silloth completed their Division One programme with a 4-1 win at Whitehaven Miners Development in which Matty Hornsby (2), Jackson Slack and Bradley Williamson were on target. Calvin Rowell replied.
