Trains will be cancelled or delayed on the Cumbria Coast Line due to a points failure.
Northern said all lines are blocked between Barrow and Corkickle today, Thursday April 23.
Affected stations are Corkickle, St Bees, Sellafield, Seascale, Drigg, Ravenglass For Eskdale, Bootle, Silecroft, Millom, Green Road, Foxfield, Kirkby-in-Furness, Askam, Barrow, Roose, Dalton, Ulverston, Cark & Cartmel, Kents Bank, Grange-Over-Sands, Arnside, Silverdale, Carnforth and Lancaster.
Northern services between Carlisle and Whitehaven are not affected.
Network Rail engineers were due to arrive at the site at 8am.
Disruption is expected to last until around 11am.
