Cumbria’s Marathon Man Gary McKee has completed his 100th marathon in 100 consecutive days, crossing the finish line at the 2026 London Marathon alongside his 18-year-old son, Beau.
Gary, who set out on his 100toLDN challenge on January 17, has run 26.2 miles every single day for more than three months, finishing the final leg on one of the world’s most iconic marathon stages.
Running in warm and bright conditions in the capital, Gary joined tens of thousands of participants at the London Marathon, one of the largest and most prestigious marathons in the world.
His finishing time today was 5 hours, 19 minutes and 57 seconds, bringing an end to one of the most extraordinary endurance challenges ever undertaken in UK fundraising.
This challenge has raised more than £68,000 for Hospice at Home West Cumbria, taking Gary to £1 million raised for the charity over the past five years.

The final marathon carried added emotion, with Gary joined by Beau, who has trained alongside him throughout the challenge and shared his long-held ambition of completing the London Marathon together.
Gary said: “It’s hard to put into words what this feels like. To finish the 100th marathon at the London Marathon, with Beau by my side, is something I’ll never forget.
“There have been some tough days along the way, but the support from people back home in West Cumbria for us both and from across the country has been unbelievable.
“This has always been about raising money for Hospice at Home West Cumbria and shining a light on the incredible work they do. To reach this point and see how much has been raised makes every step worthwhile. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together.”
Over the course of the challenge, Gary has run thousands of miles across West Cumbria, often joined by people, schoolchildren, running groups and supporters.
More than 4,000 schoolchildren ran alongside him, while countless others organised fundraising events to contribute to the cause.
Hospice at Home West Cumbria provides specialist palliative and end of life care for people across the region, supporting individuals and families when they need it most.
