Aspatria have been relegated from Regional 2 North after a play-off decider at Guisborough.
They went down 33-14 despite a second half fightback which suggested they could have salvaged the game but it was not to be.
Guisborough had led 14-0 at half-time with two converted tries and then two more touchdowns helped push them into a 26-0 lead.
It was at that point Aspatria came back into it and scored two tries through Chris Graham and Heine Jonker, both converted by Jack Clegg.
But that was as good as it got for the Black Reds and from the last play of the game Guisborough scored a fifth try and added the conversion.
So Aspatria slip to Level 7 and Counties 1 Cumbria next season, going down with neighbours and old rivals Wigton.
It completes a very disappointing season for Cumbrian rugby in general with Penrith also relegated, dropping into Regional 2 North from Regional 1 North East.
Hopefully Cumbria can gain some consolation with their performances in the Bill Beaumont Championship, which starts on May 9 against Durham at Kendal.
