Lakes College is entering a major period of growth and development – and now is the perfect time to explore the job opportunities on offer.
The college, at Lillyhall, near Workington, is hosting an exciting staff recruitment event next Saturday, May 9.
One of the biggest recent announcements is the launch of the Lillyhall Sixth Form, introducing a new A-level offer and expanding opportunities for local students.
Alongside this, new roles are being created across both teaching and business support teams – opening the door for people from a wide range of backgrounds.
Whether you’re considering teaching, returning to work, or thinking about a career change, this event offers a chance to find out more in a relaxed, welcoming
environment.
There are roles available in areas such as engineering & electrical, digital, construction and A-levels, as well as opportunities in business support and student
services.
And importantly, you don’t have to be a teacher to make a difference – every role plays a part in supporting student success.
It’s also a great opportunity for those coming from industry.
Many staff have already made that move and found a new sense of purpose in education, supported by training, mentoring, and clear progression routes.
Sarah Holliday, early years lecturer at Lakes College, said: “I recently moved from industry into a teaching role here at Lakes College and it has been a really positive move.
“I found the staff and all the colleagues friendly, supportive and very encouraging. I’d recommend people do the teacher training programme – there’s lots of room for progression and opportunities to grow.”
The event takes place on Saturday May 9 from 10am to 2pm at the National College for Nuclear, Lakes College.
Visitors can meet the team, explore current vacancies, tour the facilities, and even enjoy a coffee and a bite to eat.
If you’re looking for a career with real impact, this is a great place to start.
