Carlisle made a winning start to the new season with two victories over the weekend.
They opened the Northern League season with a seven-wicket win at Great Eccleston and then followed up 24 hours later with a home win by six wickets in the ECB National Cup over Golborne.
In their 40 overs Great Eccleston reached 171-8 mainly due to some effective late hitting from Matt Moat (47) and Alex Swale (24no).
Professional Michael Slack took 3-46 while Kieran Titterington had 2-24.
Although losing Marc Brown and new signing Calum Rowe cheaply, opener Zephania Arinaitwe didn’t hang about with a quick-fire 40 off 22 balls which included five fours and two sixes.
Then it was left to Slack (88no) and Ben Davidson (32no) to steer Carlisle to victory on 172-3 in 26 overs. Slack only faced 75 balls and hit nine fours and five sixes.

Slack, Rowe and Nico Watt were not with the side on Sunday because of county commitments when they hosted Golborne, who had comfortably beaten Keswick in the preliminary round a week earlier.
The Warrington side chose to bat at Edenside and were bowled out for 146 in 39.5 overs.

Four of the Carlisle bowlers took two wickets apiece – Johnny Westgarth (2-20), David Rhoda (2-32), Kieran Titterington (2-33) and Ben Davidson (2-37).
Carlisle reached 151-4 to secure the victory at the end of the 34th over, led by Logan Edgar (50)), Freddie Newton (31) and Davidson (29no).
They will be at home again in the second round on May 10 when Horwich will visit Edenside.

Both Workington and Furness were beaten in their first round ties on Sunday.
Batting first at Leigh, Workington chose to bat first and in their 40 overs reached a respectable 193-7 led by Matthew Lowden (66no), Sam Bates (32) and Kieran Hull (28).
Leigh, however, had reached 194-2 in 35 for a comfortable victory with Luke Prescott (82no) and Adam Shallcross (64no) sharing an unbroken third wicket partnership of 139.
Furness thought they were in with a good shout after dismissing visitors Wallasey for 152 in the penultimate over. Professional Pramod Madawantha took 4-20 and Samson Storey had 3-27.
But the home batsmen never got going with only Ryan Griffiths (26) and Lewis Gribbin (19) reaching double figures.
They were bowled out for 76 with the wickets shared among the five Wallasey bowlers.
