
Elbra B remain top of the Maryport Pool League despite early shocks in their home clash with Grasslot Welfare.
They had gone 3-1 down after the singles but stormed back to win all three doubles to snatch the win. Ian Frizzle and Graham Mattinson clinching the game by winning the last.
The Sun Inn Sharks faced The Sun Inn Cannons in an in-house derby and it was Jobby Dunn who bit first for the Sharks.
Tommi Allan and Lewis Fisher then took the next two to put the Cannons in front before David Wilson levelled the game.
Allan and Zane Alderson then put Cannons back in front but the Sharks ended their poor run of two defeats to win 4-3 in the final two doubles through Dunn and Wilson, and in the last it was Mel Scott and Wilson that did the business to clinched the match and keep them level with Elbra on points.
Bowling Club leapfrogged Butchers A into third place with an emphatic 6-1 victory over Butchers A.
Greg Norman won the solitary single for Butchers while for the Bowlers it was Paul Kirkbride, Anthony Brough and Jason Miller with singles and Mike McCallig in the doubles.
Elbra A registered their fifth straight win when they beat Maryport Social 5-2.
Ryan Ismay gave Social the lead but Tony Lambert, Jason Thompson and Andy Henderson were all in fine form and the match was over when Ismay and Liam Holm won the final double as a consolation.
Sun Inn Ballers took on the Swan and came away with an impressive victory as Gary Miller and Greg Todd won both singles and two doubles each to take the game 4-3.
Maryport Rugby League A dismantled Elbra C 7-0 with Ian Ivison, Doc Holliday, Mark Pattinson, Lee Bowness, Dale Dickinson, Brian Patterson and Craig Thompson all playing their part in a fine team performance.
Sun Inn, Dearham continued their good form with a 4-3 victory away to Maryport Rugby B but no sheet was submitted.
Butchers B got their first win of the season as they beat Glasson Rangers 5-2. Lee Hodgson, Simon Marr and Ian Pattinson had singles wins for the Butchers to move them within three points of fellow strugglers Glasson Rangers.
