A major rescue operation was launched after five people got into difficulty in Derwentwater.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team, Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service, Cumbria police and the North West Ambulance Service were called to the lake on April 28 at around 8.05pm.
Five people on two paddleboards had been blown into the middle of the lake by strong winds.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team said: “The group was in a precarious position, particularly as they were without wetsuits or buoyancy aids, and at least two individuals had fallen into the water.
“This incident highlights the speed at which lake conditions can change and the vital importance of wearing personal flotation devices when heading out on the water.
“While teams were deploying, the group managed to reach the shore.
“They were collected, assessed for cold-water shock, and returned to their departure point.”
The call out was Keswick team member Andy Jones’ 1,500th.
