Cumbria Women begin championship this weekend

Cumbria Women open their Gill Burns County Championship programme on Sunday at Coalville against Leicestershire.

The squad of 23 players, and two travelling reserves, is drawn from six county clubs – Carlisle Cougars, Kendal Wasps, Keswick Falcons, Penrith Panthers, Upper Eden Eagles and Workington Finches.

Carlisle’s Hannah Sherlock has been named captain supported by Anna King (Carlisle) and Susie Winter (Kendal).

The squad is: Mag Todd (Keswick), Anna King (Carlisle), Katie Jackson (Keswick), Hailey Coutts (Kendal), Kim Fitzmaurice (Carlisle), Caitlin Jackson (Keswick), Vanessa Hagen (Carlisle), Susie Winter (Kendal), Phil Chadwick (Carlisle), Sarah Smyth (Carlisle), Ruth Barnes (Keswick), Hannah Sherlock (Carlisle), Sophie Weir (Workington), Lexi Hodgson (Penrith), Liz Ravalde (Keswick), Kiera Collins (Keswick), Amber Byers (Kendal), Zelia Clash (Keswick), Leanne Grave (Keswick), Ange Wray (Keswick), Charlotte Morphet (Keswick), Sian Laud (Penrith), Meagan McAndrew (Workington).

Travelling reserves Shannon Sowerby (Upper Eden) and Lauren Oates (Kendal).
