It was matchday five for the teams in the Andrea Buggy Women’s summer league as Abbeytown Ladies went away to Whitehaven AFC Yellows.

The game started off with chances going begging for the away team but finally Sadie Holliday found the back of the net with a composed finish.

The first half fizzled out with the Whitehaven Keeper standing strong to keep it at 1-0.

Into the second half, and willing runner Poppy Fitzwilliam tried to get in behind for Whitehaven, but player of the match Ella Baker stood strong.

The away side then got on top of the game as Danielle Wilson scored a brace against her old side.

The team in red and white played high pressing, attacking football which proved fruitful.

Goals also come from both the Abbeytown strikers, in Brooke Reynolds and Lucy Carr.
