iCan Wellbeing Group has been officially recognised as one of the best places to work for people to develop.

It has been rated as 55th out of 100 firms in the UK by Great Place to Work which make employee development a key part of company culture.

The workplaces on the list offer employees the chance to better themselves, to learn new skills, and to progress within the organisation.

iCan, based in Carlisle, actively supports each employee to undertake their own tailored journey of growth, it said.

Natasha Wordsworth- Green, an iCan employee, said: “Working at iCan isn’t just a job, its an extension to my family. I never feel like I’m working when I’m at iCan because I love it so much.”

Lisa Bridgewater, co-founder and chief operating officer, said: “I am so thrilled to receive this recognition for the team.

“Our team really are the hardest working group of people and are continuous working towards providing the very best services, classes and sessions they can for our community, whilst having fun at work and developing their own personal strengths and professional goals.”

“Congratulations to iCan Wellbeing Group CIO for being part of our 2026 UK’s Best Workplaces for Development List.

“Learning and development go beyond enabling people to do their jobs well today – they signal that employees matter and that their future within the organisation is taken seriously. When individuals can clearly see how they can grow and progress, they’re far more likely to feel motivated, engaged and committed.

“Without that visibility, both performance and retention can suffer,” said Benedict Gautrey, managing director of Great Place To Work UK.

Great Place To Work reviewed each company’s culture, benefits, approach to leadership and development, alongside anonymous responses from employees.

The insights are used to benchmark each company’s employee value proposition against the culture employees actually experience.
