
A man was recued from a Lake District fell after injuring both his legs and unable to walk.
Coniston Mountain Rescue Team was called out yesterday, Sunday May 24, to the Old Man of Coniston at around 3.15pm.
A family were descending when one slipped and injured himself.
Cumbria police called the mountain rescue team, which sent three vehicles to Bursting Stone and walked up from there.
The team said: “On arrival, he was assessed and one leg was splinted.
“We then carried him on our stretcher down to the quarry and our vehicles.
He was driven to our base, and went from there in a family car to hospital.”
