A £100 million luxury glass train will debut in the UK this summer – with trips to the Lake District on the itinerary.
Passengers will pay from £7,700 each for the three-night trip on the Britannic Explorer, the UK’s first luxury sleeper train.
It includes an observation car with glass sides for people to take in the views as they travel through the countryside.
It features grand suites, double suites and twin suites, two dining carriages and an on-board spa with Lake District-inspired fragrances.
The trip begins with a Cumbrian afternoon tea curated by Michelin star chef Simon Rogan after they embark on their journey from London Victoria.
Fine dining is standard, with menus curated by Simon Rogan and head chef Alexander Wyn Lewis.

Maiden voyages to the Lake District, Wales and Cornwall are set to depart next month.
The Lake District journey includes excursions to Windermere, Simon Rogan’s Our Farm in the Cartmel Valley, where passengers can also lunch, and Graythwaite Estate, near Ulverston, plus a farewell dinner at Alain Roux’s three-Michelin starred restaurant The Waterside Inn in Bray.

The train’s website says the journey is from London to Workington along the Cumbrian coast and then passengers travel to Penrith to continue their travels southwards.
The Cumbria Coast Line is currently closed between Whitehaven and Corkicle and the website does not make it clear how passengers will arrive in Workington.
Currently people travelling between Whitehaven and Corkicle are being transported by coach.
The first departure for the Lake District is on June 12, with an £8,500 price tag for two passengers, then June 26 at £7,000, July 10 at £9,200 and July 31 at £7,700.
The train is operated by Belmond, which also runs the Orient Express and the Royal Scotsman.
