Workington Reds have confirmed that midfielder Isaac Whitehall has committed to the club for next season.
The 24-year-old Whitehall was manager Billy Barr’s second recruit last season when he took over in February, following the signing of Tyler Magliore.
Reds’ announcement of the re-signing included the view that – “Isaac made an instant impact with his quality, energy and performances, quickly becoming a huge part of the squad during the run-in.”
Barr had come across Whitehall while he was working with Blackburn Rovers Under-23s squad and had rated him highly.
Whitehall had recurring injury concerns at Ewood Park which eventually caused him to abandon his promising professional career.
Barrow-based Whitehall was not available every week because of the job he had taken outside the game, so hopefully Reds fans will be hoping that has changed ahead of August.
Workington Reds added: “An exceptional talent with massive potential, Isaac’s signing is a major boost for the club as preparations continue for the new campaign. We’re absolutely delighted to have him back in red.”
