Kendal Town Hall, South Lakeland House and the South Lakeland House car park will be closed for two days in August for essential work.
The work by Electricity North West will take place on Saturday August 15 and Sunday August 16.
It will require a full isolation of the electrical supply to both buildings and there will be no power, lighting or electrical services available during the closure period.
The planned power shutdown will begin at 8am on Saturday August 15 and will remain in place until Electricity North West completes the work.
Power is expected to be reinstated on Sunday August 16 but the exact time cannot be confirmed until the work has finished.
Both buildings will be fully locked for the duration of the shutdown and all building users and car park permit holders have been informed.
Andrew Jarvis, deputy leader of the council and cabinet member for finance said: “The essential work are necessary to ensure the continued safety and resilience of the electrical supply to Kendal Town Hall, South Lakeland House and its car park.
“We appreciate that the temporary closure may cause some inconvenience, but completing this maintenance will help prevent more serious disruption in the future as we continue to maintain the good quality of our assets.”
The council said it apologised for any inconvenience caused and thanks residents, staff and visitors for their understanding during this essential maintenance period.
Alternative parking is available within the town centre and includes large car parks at Westmorland and Furness Shopping Centre and Kendal County Hall.
