Barrow Raiders continued their winning run with a narrow 18-16 Championship success at home to Sheffield Eagles.
But they needed a penalty five minutes from the end by Brad Walker to secure the points after they had been level for the previous 10 minutes.
It was always going to be a tough, tight contest and the two combatants had turned round all square at 12-12.
Sheffield had taken the lead after 10 minutes when Barrow were caught offside under their own posts and Abdull banged over the penalty.
Barrow got themselves ahead after 17 minutes when Harvey Makin did well to make space for Ryan King to jink and then power his way over for the try which Walker converted.
Three minutes later Barrow were in again. This time it was Makin who finished off after good work by Alex Bishop to set up the chance. Walker’s kick made it 12-2.
On the half hour Sheffield reduced the arrears with a try after spreading the ball wide and a missed tackle allowed Walkley to go in for the try which Abdull converted.
Five minutes later Sheffield were level when they broke smartly down the right for Bower to score an unconverted try.
Six minutes after the restart the Eagles were ahead when Barrow had gone down to yellow after a yellow card for Richards.
A good kick by Abdull was followed up smartly by Walkley over the home line and he collected to score. The conversion was missed.
It was a battle for supremacy for 20 minutes but Barrow eventually drew level when Shane Toal and Luke Broadbent combined well before a kick by Walker found Ellis Robson and he went over in the corner.
It stayed that way until the 75th minute when a high tackle on Jarrad Stack gave Walker a shot at goal and his successful kick won it for the Raiders.
