Emergency services were called out to help an intoxicated person in difficulty in Windermere.
Furness Coastguard said they were called last night, Saturday June 13, to the lake.
The person was helped ashore by Lakes Wardens and Cumbria police and was handed over to the care of the ambulance service.
Furness Coastguard was stood down as the team arrived on scene.
Furness Coastguard said: “Our colleagues from Arnside Coastguard and Morecambe Coastguard were also called to assist, but also stood down once the casualty was ashore.
“Water and alcohol don’t mix. Many drownings happen even when people didn’t plan to enter the water.
“46% of accidental drownings in 18-25s involve alcohol/drugs.”
