A Cumbrian butchers is celebrating after bringing home a host of awards.

Dales Traditional Butchers in Kirkby Lonsdale, has won awards at The Dalziel Butchers Show 2026, including two prestigious Golden Cleavers.

The business entered six products into the competition and saw six products awarded three stars, two products awarded two stars, with three scoring 100 per cent and three products shortlisted for the finals.

Its Golden Cleaver awards were given to its quartet of savoury truffles and its venison, cranberry & sage sausage.

Mark and Fiona Duckworth, who run Dales Butchers, said: “What a truly remarkable day. For such a small independent butchers shop in Kirkby Lonsdale, we cannot express how proud we are of what our team has achieved.

“To win two Golden Cleavers alongside multiple three-star awards is an incredible honour.

“We absolutely love bringing the very best of British butchery to our wonderful market town and our customers.”

The Dalziel Butchers Show, now in its 100th year, is one of the most respected competitions in the UK butchery industry. The awards recognise excellence in product quality, innovation, and craftsmanship.
