Harris Park A continue fine form in bowls league

In the West Cumbria Mixed Triples League Harris Park A have continued their fine form.

They scored a 6-3 home win against Wigton and are eleven points clear at the top.

However, second placed Workington B do have two games in hand over the Cockermouth club.

Other results from 16 June were: Maryport 7, Seascale 2.5; Egremont 9, Harris Park B 0; Croft 7, Vulcan Park A 2; Seaton 7, Whitehaven B 2. The fixtures – Workington B v Cleator Moor and Whitehaven A v Workington A were not played because the two home teams were unable to field sufficient female players. 

League standings (games played and points): Harris Park A 7-44, Workington B 5-33, Egremont 6-33, Maryport 6-33, Whitehaven A 5-30, Cleator Moor 6-30, Croft 7-29, Workington A 5-28.5, Seascale 7-27.5, Whitehaven B 7-27, Wigton 5-26, Seaton 5-22, Harris Park B 6-14, Vulcan Park B 6-5. 

In the West Cumbria Fours League, sponsored by Whitehaven Trophies both Workington A and Whitehaven A recorded 7-0 away wins – at Cleator Moor and Vulcan Park respectively. Harris Park won 4-3 away against Whitehaven B and Maryport won 4-3 away against Workington B.

The fixture – Fitz Park v Seaton was postponed because four of the Keswick club’s players were involved in a rearranged County Cup game against Whitehaven.

League standings (games played and points): Workington A 8-51, Whitehaven A 8-50, Cleator Moor 9-43, Fitz Park 6-38, Harris Park 9-26, Maryport 9-24, Workington B 9-21, Seaton 7-19, Whitehaven B 8-16, Vulcan Park 9-6.
