
Four people were rescued from a speedboat after they got into difficulty off the west coast of Cumbria.
Workington RNLI’s all weather lifeboat Dorothy May White and inshore lifeboat James R Allan were launched at 6.15pm today, Friday June 26.
The speedboat, with four people on board, was reported to be going aground on the coast off Harrington, near Workington.
All four people disembarked from the vessel safely and were met on the shore by Whitehaven Coastguard Rescue Team and Maryport Coastguard Rescue Team
Both boats returned to the station at 7.20pm.
