Barrow AFC announce new sleeve sponsor Fibrus

Barrow AFC have announced a new partnership with Fibrus, which will become the club’s sleeve sponsor for the next two seasons.

The full fibre broadband company’s branding will feature on the sleeves of the Bluebirds’ first team shirts throughout the partnership.

In July 2025, Fibrus celebrated connecting its 100,000th property in Cumbria, before reaching another major milestone last month when it signed up its 150,000th customer. More than 36,000 of those customers are in Cumbria.

Alongside investing in digital infrastructure, Fibrus has also become a significant supporter of local communities.

In March, it announced it had donated more than £1 million to charities and community groups across its network area, with over £470,000 of that funding benefiting organisations in Cumbria.

The support has helped grassroots sports clubs, community groups and environmental projects throughout the county.

The sponsorship of Barrow AFC continues Fibrus’ growing involvement in Cumbrian sport.

The company is already the headline and kit sponsor of Workington Town, whose ground is known as the Fibrus Community Stadium.

More recently, it launched its latest Play It Forward fund, a £50,000 grant programme which has been running since 2023, designed to support grassroots sports clubs across Cumbria and Northern Ireland.

Colin Hutchinson, group managing director of Fibrus, said: “Barrow AFC is a club right at the heart of its community, and we’re proud to support a team with such a strong connection to the people of Furness.

“As Fibrus continues to invest across Cumbria, partnerships like this are incredibly important, allowing us to support organisations that bring the local community together and make a genuine difference in the area.

“Barrow AFC has a huge sense of pride and ambition, and that’s something we recognise and share as a business.

“While last season was a disappointing one for the Bluebirds, we’re really excited for the months ahead and look forward to supporting the club, its fans and the wider community as Barrow aims to return to the Football League next season.”

Kelly Moxham, partnership and hospitality manager at Barrow AFC, said: “I am delighted to welcome Fibrus to the Barrow AFC family as our new sleeve partner for the next two seasons.

“Fibrus is a company that shares many of the values that are important to us as a football club, particularly its commitment to supporting local communities and investing across Cumbria. Their growth and ambition make them an exciting partner for Barrow AFC, and we are proud to be working together.

“We are excited to have Fibrus alongside us on our journey and thank them for their support of the club.

“The club would like to place on record its thanks to everyone at Fibrus for their support and commitment to Barrow AFC. We look forward to developing a strong and successful partnership over the next two seasons.”
