Cumbrian pigeon fanciers will be back in action this weekend when the birds race again from Holmsley.
Because of the heatwave last Saturday’s racing into Cumbria was postponed.
The Cumbria Combine birds should have been at Holmsley for a second time again but decided to postpone and they will race on Saturday from the New Forest site.
This Saturday had been originally set aside for training young birds, and next week-end too, with no racing in the programme.
Hopefully that will still be the case for July 11.
Young bird racing is due to start on July 18 from Garstang when there will also be the final cross-channel race from Vire.
Cumbrian fanciers have been busily training their young birds, avoiding the heatwave conditions but will be anxiously looking at forecasts for next week with more hot days in prospect.
