A 31-year-old man has been arrested after a report of a rape in Whitehaven.
The report was made to Cumbria police shortly before 3.30am on Saturday, July 25.
The man, who lives locally, was arrested on suspicion of rape shortly after the incident was reported.
He has been released on bail with conditions.
The victim, an adult woman, is being supported by specialist officers, Cumbria police said.
