The M6 is closed northbound in South Cumbria following a HGV fire earlier today.
It is closed from Junction 35 at Carnforth to Junction 36 Kirkby Lonsdale.
Cumbria police is reporting there is congestion to Junction 34 for Lancaster and routes through Carnforth and Burton-in-Kendal as drivers divert around the closure.
The fire happened at around 3.30am. Three fire engines attended the incident and firefighters helped one casualty from the vehicle.
They made the scene safe and were at the scene for around an hour.
