A person in the sea was rescued by RNLI volunteers last night.
Silloth RNLI said they were called at around 8pm yesterday, Friday July 24, to the incident.
The person, who was in the sea off Silloth, was holding on to a life ring that had been thrown to them by a fisherman.
Silloth RNLI said: “The person was safely recovered from the water, brought back to the lifeboat station and was given first aid until an ambulance arrived.
“Once the ambulance arrived the casualty was handed over to the paramedics where they continued to give care to the person.
“Maryport Coastguard attended the call out to assist. The person involved is safe and well.”
