[I]n a direct contrast to Wordsworth’s ten thousand daffodils, a fragile and rare white bluebell has been found in the grounds of The Wild Boar Inn Grill and Smokehouse near Windermere.
The ‘albino’ flower, which lacks the usual pigment that gives bluebells their traditional blue colour, was spotted by Tim Berry from English Lakes Hotels Resorts & Venues as he walked with his dog Lily in the grounds of The Wild Boar in the Gilpin Valley.
Tim said: “I was out in the woods for my usual walk around the Inn’s woodland and was telling my daughters about these incredibly rare white bluebells, estimated to be 1 in 10,000, and that in recent years some had been seen at The Wild Boar. So off we went to the secret location and sure enough we found one.”
