[A] motorcyclist has died after a road traffic collision occurred on the A66 at Stainmore.
Police were called to the westbound A66 at approx 4:35pm on Tuesday 6 June after a one-vehicle collision near the Stainmore café.
The rider of a yellow BMW S1000R motorcycle, a man from the north east, was treated at the scene by paramedics and an air ambulance doctor but died of injuries sustained at the scene.
His family are being informed.
The rider was one of three motorcyclists who were travelling westbound together.
Cumbria Police would like any witnesses to contact PC2271 Cottingham on 101 quoting log 194 of 6 June.
