[H]ave you taken some wildlife photographs that you’re really proud of and want to share? If so, why not enter them into Cumbria Wildlife Trust’s new photography competition? Your photo could feature in the charity’s 2018 calendar.

Photography is a great way to record and celebrate Cumbria’s wildlife and wild places. Whether it’s interesting animal behaviour, stand-out flora, iconic species or amazing landscapes, capturing these encounters on camera is a wonderfully satisfying way to preserve your connection with nature.

There are four categories in this competition:

Cumbria’s red squirrels: One of our county’s most iconic and much-loved species, do you have a photo that show our native reds at their best?

Cumbria’s flora: From hay meadows to woodlands, single orchids to a carpet of wildflowers, this is your chance to showcase Cumbria’s fantastic flora.

Cumbria’s wildlife: It may be summertime, but why not look through your archive of wildlife throughout the seasons?

Cumbria’s wild places: Whether it’s the wild and windy coast, peaceful woodlands, breath-taking fell-tops, or precious wetlands, send in your photos that capture the essence of Cumbria’s varied landscapes.

Twelve winning photos will be chosen, all of which will feature in Cumbria Wildlife Trust’s 2018 calendar and the overall winner will also feature on the front cover of the calendar.

The deadline for entries is midnight on Sunday 16 July. Please note photos should be landscape orientation (wide, not tall). For more details of how to enter, as well as full terms and conditions, go to www.cumbriawildlifetrust.org.uk.
