[T]his August the newly reopened Rosehill Theatre will celebrate the talented young voices in the area with Summer Sing, an intensive three days of music making and fun.

Participants will work with singers and conductors to form a brand new children’s choir, which will perform a concert at the end of the week. This will be a great opportunity for children to explore their passion for singing and meet other talented young singers.

The summer school will be led by Robbie Jacobs, Rosehill’s Associate Director for Singing, Conductor for the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain and who is about to become Associate Director of Choirs for the Boston Children’s Chorus.

The workshop will involve a mixture of rehearsal, singing games, musicianship activities, as well as other completely non-musical fun!

WHEN IS IT HAPPENING?
Wednesday 2 – Friday 4 August
9.45am – 3.45pm
£40 per person

SUMMER SCHOOL CONCERT
Friday 4 August 2pm

Support is available towards the cost of attending Summer Sing, for further information contact Rosehill.

This Summer also sees the launch of Rosehill Children’s Choir and sets out to make singing and music making accessible to all young people in the local area.

Initially for ages 7-11, choir membership will be drawn from the most enthusiastic and passionate young singers in West Cumbria. The choir will work with some of the best choral educators and vocal leaders in the UK, including members of National Youth Choirs of Great Britain and Mahogany Opera Group, to nurture the growth of a leading singing programme in the North West.

Rosehill Children’s Choir will be resident at Rosehill Theatre, as the first choice young people’s vocal group to support professional performances produced in the newly refurbished theatre. If you would like to sign up or for further information please contact Rosehill on 01946 692442 or email [email protected]
