[W]orkington Town Council staff took part in Workington’s Festival of Running on Sunday 2nd July, raising over £500 for the Mayor of Workington’s charity, Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

Town Clerk Chris Bagshaw, Assistant Town Clerk Amelia Donnelly, Events Assistant Emma Chapman, Estate Team Leader Alison Saxby and Estate Worker Joe Fletcher all completed the 5k race, while Events Officer Amy Johnson took part in the 1k race alongside the Mayor of Workington, Cllr Ann Bales.

Cllr Bales said: “When I heard staff were going to take part in the race to raise money for my charity I thought it was only fair I got involved as well.  I am delighted that they managed to raise over £500, what a great team effort.”

The event was held from 10am-3pm on Sunday 2nd July at Workington Leisure Centre.
