[E]mergency services were alerted to a fire at Little Italy, Moffat Road, Dumfries around 0216 hours this morning (Wednesday 30 August 2017).
Police and Fire Service attended the scene and upon arrival found a well-developed fire within the building.
At this time no one appears to have been injured however the restaurant has been severely damaged as a result of the fire.
Moffat Road was closed for a number of hours however has since reopened.
Police remain at the scene and joint Police and Fire Service investigation into the cause of the fire will be carried out in due course.
Update: The joint fire investigation and a review of CCTV found there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding this fire.
