[W]ith Charlotte Smith and Kyra Walton injured and Hannah Coulthard unavailable Penrith handed a first start of the season to youngster Becca Alderson.

Circumstances meant that Penrith had to switch venues for this game and they failed to settle to the softer ground and longer grass of Castletown’s Rec pitch.

Penrith attempted to get their usual slick passing game into action but were frustrated and were frequently making errors and giving the ball away cheaply.

Gradually Penrith adapted their approach and were getting rewards from a more direct long ball game. On several occasions Nat Broad was set free behind the Morecambe defence and on 2 occasions she was able to convert to give Penrith a 2-0 half time lead.

Into the 2nd half Morecambe came back strongly and showed their attacking potential . They were pressuring Penrith into uncharacteristic mistakes .

Penrith once again showed their resilience and defended resolutely to claim their 3rd clean sheet of the season in league games.

Late on Nat Broad sealed the victory as she made it 3-0 and completed her hat trick.

Final Score 3-0

Penrith: Jones, Nelson(Savage), J.Williams, Alderson, McCormick, P.Williams(Fawkes), Nutter(Campbell), Johnston, Broad, Hopton, S.Smith

This Sunday Penrith AFC Ladies travel to face Bolton Wanderers Reserves.
