Leaf

[T]he Old Fire Station is making sure that the very young ones can enjoy a theatre experience too. They are bringing Half Moon to Carlisle with their gentle and magical show for 0 – 3yrs about the life cycle of a leaf.

A leaf is born… It grows and glows in the sunshine and the rain. Then the wind blows and it becomes colder. The leaf changes colour in the snow, the leaf falls… But when spring comes, a new leaf grows…

Join Half Moon as they tell the life story of a very special leaf in this warm, intimate and playful new piece for under 3’s inspired by nature and the seasons and performed to a gentle soundtrack.

Leaf is a wonderful sensory show for babies and young ones aged 0 – 3yrs and offers a lovely first introduction to theatre for the very young. The show lasts for 25 mins. At the end of the performance, children are invited to play among the leaves and explore a landscape created by the changing seasons.

Leaf is another heart-warming play created by Tam Tam Theatre, whose previous shows for very young children include Circles in the Sand and Curious. The company’s founder, Marleen Vermeulen, created Leaf in collaboration with director Joy Haynes. The show is touring with Highlights Rural Touring Scheme through their partnership with Take Off Children’s Theatre Festival. The Scheme is working with the Old Fire Station to bring more theatre events to Carlisle.
