[A] man has died after falling from the High Level Bridge in Newcastle this morning.
Emergency services were called to the High Level Bridge at around 8.05am, this morning following reports that a man had fallen from it onto the road below.
Police and ambulance responded but sadly the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin has now been informed.
The Swing Bridge was closed as emergency services dealt with the incident but it has since been fully re-opened.
Officers have been carrying out enquiries this morning but there is not believed to have been any third party involvement and a report is being prepared for the coroner.
