The film, which sequels A Year on Scafell Pike, showcases spectacular scenes of Blencathra and the surrounding area. From spring lambs to winters snows, it will look at the lives of residents, school children and visitors to the mountain with contributions from comedian Ed Byrne, broadcaster Stuart Maconie, mountaineer Alan Hinkes OBE and record breaking fell runner Steve Birkinshaw.

With Terry’s project partly sponsored by The Blencathra Centre FSC, Head of Centre Tim Foster accompanied Terry to the ceremony.

He said: “As one of the sponsors of Terry’s film Life of a Mountain Blencathra this has been a tremendous boost in raising the profile of Blencathra, the Northern Fells, Keswick and Eden. The Blencathra film is the second in the Life of a Mountain trilogy, highlighting iconic Lake District mountains and this award builds on the anticipation for the third and final in the series which focuses on Helvellyn”

This is third Award A Life of a Mountain: A Year on Blencathra has won, following prizes from Outdoor Writers and Photographers Guild and Cumbria Life.

An unabridged film version of ‘Life of a Mountain: Blencathra – A Year in the Life of the People’s Mountain’ is available to buy on DVD via www.stridingedge.com or Amazon UK.
