[A]t 10:49am today, Tuesday 12 December firefighters from Wigton and Carlisle attended reports of a chimney fire on George Street, Wigton.
On arrival at the two storey semi-detached property firefighters found that the chimney fire was well alight and the building was heavily smoke logged.
A spokesman for Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews used an aerial platform, hose reel jets and extended ladders to tackle the fire from above.
“The fire has since been extinguished.”
