[P]olice were called at 6:46am today (5th January) following one vehicle road traffic collision on the B5307 near Kirkbride.
A spokesman for Cumbria Police said: “A Vauxhall Corsa collided with a tree. The driver was a 40-year-old man from Wigton.
“He has been taken to the Cumberland Infirmary. His injuries are not life-threatening.”
A spokesman for Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said: “At 6:42am firefighters were called to a report of a road traffic collision on the B5307 at Moorhouse.
“One vehicle was involved in a collision with a tree, leaving a casualty trapped inside.
“Two sets of cutting equipment were used to release the casualty.”
