[T]he A66 was closed in both directions Sunday evening between the A6 and the A685 due to a HGV vehicle fire.
Police were called at 7:27pm.
At 19:15 firefighters were called to a HGV which was on fire on the A66 Temple Sowerby, Penrith. Crews found the HGV was well alight on arrival and used two breathing apparatus, two main jets and two hose reel jets to fight the fire.
The road reopened at approx 2am.
