[P]enrith finally returned to action after a 6 week break enforced by first the weather and then the festive break.
Not surprisingly Penrith were slow to get going and their passing play was uncharacteristically scrappy.
After a fairly even first half Penrith were somewhat fortunate to find themselves 0-2 up at the break with well taken goals from Nat Broad and Sarah Smith.
Into the 2nd half Penrith upped the tempo of the game while Morecambes early confidence seemed to fade away.
In the end Penrith cruised to a comfortable victory with further goals from Broad, S.Smith, Heather Fawkes and a back post header from youngster Livvy Johnston.
Penrith welcome Bolton Wanderers Res to Frenchfields next Sunday.
