[O]fficers are appealing for anyone who worked at Wyndham Court in Cleator Moor between 1979 and 1989 to get in touch.
The appeal comes as officers investigate a report of an offence having potentially taken place between those dates.
Wyndham Court is a former supported housing facility which has since been demolished.
People who worked there may be able to provide information which could assist during the investigation.
Anyone who did formerly work at Wyndham Court during these dates is asked to contact Detective Constable Carolyn Wilson on 101.
