[L]isa Gaga, one of the UK’s most recognisable Lady Gaga tribute acts is set to perform in Penrith on Saturday 21st April at a charity event organised by two Eden women to raise funds for Carlisle and Eden Mind and the Great North Air Ambulance Service.
The evening will also see local swing sensation Nick King take to the stage with his smooth vocals.
Hannah Jones who is organising the event with her partner Victoria Bainbridge said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be bringing Lisa’s act to Penrith, her shows are mesmerizing! She has fantastic vocals and stage presence and has performed all over the world from Moscow to Paris. It’s a real coup to have her on stage at our event, we can’t wait for everyone to experience her performance.”
Penrith’s own Nick King will also perform at the event singing a series of swing classics to delight the crowd. When Nick (an operations manager for BT telecoms) is not taking his solo act out and about in the North West he can be found singing with West Cumbria’s La’al Big Band.
Nick said: “I am really looking forward to performing at this live music extravaganza, the atmosphere should be electric. I know both Hannah and Victoria personally and it’s a real pleasure to feature alongside someone as well-known as Lisa and help them raise funds for two amazing local charities.”
As well as the all-important fund-raising Hannah and Victoria have organised the charity night to raise awareness of mental health issues.
Victoria said: “We have both been effected by mental health issues in the past, rather than brush our own struggles under the carpet we wanted to celebrate our recovery and get everyone talking about mental health.
“We both feel passionately that society needs to break the damaging stigma that surrounds anxiety and depression as it does not show prejudice, anyone can be effected. Our friends and family have been really supportive of our first foray into event planning so it’s already been a wonderful experience in our eyes. We just hope everyone will have a brilliant night.”
