[A] MAN who admits a catalogue of online sex crimes against victims he believed were children has been told to expect a prison sentence.
David Littlewood pleaded guilty to 18 crimes when he appeared at Carlisle Crown Court today (MON).
All of the charges were brought after police attended an address in Kendal on the morning of March 22.
Littlewood, 28, admitted three counts of attempting to cause or incite a child to engage in sexual activity.
He also pleaded guilty to seven offences of attempting to cause a child to watch a sexual act, and four of attempting to sexually communicate with a child.
These offences were committed during late 2017 and early 2018.
Seven different people, each said to be aged either 13, 14 or 15, are named in the charges.
In addition, Littlewood admitted downloading scores of indecent photographs of a child – including 172 classed in category A, the most serious – and possessing an extreme pornographic image featuring a horse.
Judge James Adkin adjourned the hearing and ordered the preparation of a pre-sentence report on the defendant.
Littlewood, of no fixed abode, was told he must now sign the sex offenders’ register.
He is due to be sentenced at the crown court on May 11. Judge Adkin told him: “You should expect a custodial sentence in due course. In the meantime you will be remanded in custody.”
