[V]oted ‘Best Family Event’ for the last 4 years running at the National Family Arts Festival Awards, Big Fish Little Fish has been playing to packed crowds in London since 2013. It was named in the top 10 of Time Out London’s ‘101 Best Things to do with Kids in London’. BFLF NW was voted a runner up in the Hoop Manchester Awards in April this year.
Big Fish Little Fish’s North West team launched in Manchester in November 2015 to a fantastic response. NW organiser Rachel Wilkinson is from Lancaster and went to Manchester Uni in the 90s. She now lives back in her home town and has two young boys. Regular events are held in Manchester, Liverpool, Lancaster and Chester with tickets selling out. The first event at the Factory sold out within 20 minutes! This year the NW team will also be at Geronimo Festival in Cheshire and Highest Point Festival at Lancaster’s Williamson Park
NW DJs have included Hacienda DJs – Herbie Saccani and Tom Wainwright, Cream DJs Paul Bleasdale, Andy Carroll and John Kelly. K-Klass DJ-ed at BFLF NW 1st birthday party with live PA from Bobbi Depasois. Our NW 2nd birthday in Manchester on November 19th had Altern8’s Mark Archer on the decks – a rave pioneer!
The family raves are parties where families can dance together to great dance music on the dancefloor. Top DJs, club lighting, bubble machines, balloons, confetti cannons and a giant parachute dance help to create the atmosphere of the rave. Parties have an (optional) fancy dress theme, with themed crafting and large themed colouring-in mural, as well as playdough tables. There’s a chill out area for babies, free glowsticks and transfer tattoos and a licenced bar for the grown-ups. BFLF was created by families for families and is an environment where adults and children alike can dance together, have fun and create memories.
BFLF are delighted to be launching in Penrith at Rheged with a ‘Superheroes’ theme. Optional ‘Superheroes’ fancy dress is encouraged! BFLF resident Dave Booth (Garlands / Hacienda / Eden Ibiza) is on the decks playing a (grown-up) dance music set.
The event is on Sunday 3rd June, running from 2pm – 4.30pm. Tickets for the Penrith party cost for £10 for adults and £7.00 for children. Pre-walkers are free, but ticketed. Entrance fee also includes entrance to the outside play area (weather permitting)

BFLF believe everyone has the right to a good time – so big fish, grab your little fish and see you on the dancefloor.
