[T]he Cumbria International Motor Show returns to the Westmorland Show Ground again this weekend for what promises to be an exciting family day out.

Now in its 7th year, the show, which takes place this Sunday 20th May, has a packed entertainment schedule including live music, guest speakers, and a range of fun, games and activities for children.

Gates open at 10.30am and live music from North West band, Monsters of Rock will kick proceedings off in the main marquee from 11.15am.

Fronted by Screamin’ Jim Bob Wilson, Monsters of Rock are a classic to modern day rock tribute group covering the best tunes from bands such as Queen, The Rolling Stones, The Foo Fighters and many more.

Dance performances will be provided by talented Barrow-based Dance XTREME whilst Tom Howard, also known as ‘The Gentleman Racer’ will engage the crowds with his insider knowledge of working with some of the world’s most sought after supercars.

A giant rodeo bull or ‘bucking bronco’ will challenge the younger visitors as well as a Disco Dome Bouncy Castle and children’s entertainer with magic tricks, balloons and games.

Show organiser, David Robinson said: “It’s important to me that the show is about more than just cars. It needs to have something for everyone and provide a full day’s entertainment as people don’t want to travel long distances to only stay for a couple of hours. We’ve had so many interesting businesses contact us to get involved with this year’s show and I can’t wait to see it all come together again.

“We’ve certainly come a long way from our humble beginnings in the car park of the Lakeland Motor Museum!”

This year’s show will include more than 600 iconic cars, including Aston Martin Newcastle attending for the first time alongside Porsche, Jaguar LandRover and other classic models. Around 30 local trader’s stalls range from luxury Banks Lyon jewellery and handmade acrylic Urban Surfing Clocks to original portrait art from Rachel Greenbank and Dean & Susie Ellison’s bright and bold Big Bobble Hats.

Food and drink will be in strong supply with everything from

Thai street food to fish and chips, hog roasts, pizzas, doughnuts and ice cream. Speciality coffee vans, The Little Blue Pig and Coffee Bean & Gone will keep everyone fuelled and there’s even a converted horse box bar and mobile gin bar for the non-drivers to indulge.

The 7th Cumbria International Motor Show is sponsored by Kentdale Jaguar, LandRover of Kendal and takes place at the Westmorland Show Ground from 10.30am-4.30pm on Sunday 20th May. Tickets are available on the day priced at £10 for adults, £5 for under 16’s, and value family tickets at £25. Under 5’s are free and dogs are also welcome.
