
[A] man has died after police were called at 18:03 yesterday (1st June) due to concerns for three individuals in the water at Ormsgill Reservoir.
Emergency services including, police, fire and ambulance attended the scene.
A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “A 36-year-old man from Kendal, was taken to Furness General Hospital but, despite receiving treatment, has died as a result of his injuries.
“A 45-year-old male from Barrow, was also taken to Furness General Hospital with minor injuries.
“The death is being treated as non-suspicious. The coroner has been informed.”
A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “At 5:58pm yesterday, Friday 1 June firefighters were called to a reservoir off Schneider Road in Barrow-in-Furness following reports of a man in the water.
A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Emergency services made a search of the water and located the man.
“Three firefighters rescued him from the water and handed him over to paramedics.”
