Workington Red Diamonds

[T]hree Cumberland FA-affiliated sides will compete at the FA Futsal Youth Cup North West Regional Finals at Platt Lane Sports Complex in Manchester on Saturday (9 June).

Cumberland’s Under-10 county winners, Stanwix Hornets, will face Greenside School and Brazil Girls in the group stages, with a place in the national U10 final at stake.

Northbank 1970

Meanwhile, Northbank 1970, who were this year’s Under-12 county winners, take on St Annes, Walkden and Droylsden in the U12 regional group stage.

As the afternoon draws to a close, Cumberland’s Under-14 winners, Workington Red Diamonds, will look to get the better of Droylsden and Write Robinson FC.

Group winners and runners-up will then compete for a place at the National Finals, so Cumberland FA would like to wish all of its teams involved the very best of luck.

Jess Nelson, Cumberland FA Football Development Officer, said: “It’s brilliant to see three Cumbrian sides take to the regional stage this weekend. All three sides should be really proud of making it to this stage, as the opportunity to progress further is really exciting.

“I’d like to personally wish Carl’s Hornets, Thierry’s 1970 squad and Andy’s Reds all the best for Saturday’s finals. I can’t wait to hear how you get on.”
