[C]umbria’s Police and Crime Commissioner, Peter McCall, is holding three public surgeries in the following weeks and is inviting people to go along and share their views about policing in their local communities.

The Commissioner will be at the following venues:

Wednesday 4 July, 2-4pm

The Best Life Building, Oxford Street, Workington

Wednesday 11 July, 1-3pm

The Forum, Duke Street, Barrow

Thursday 12 July, 10-12noon

Centre Square, The Lanes, Carlisle

Meeting the public regularly to listen to their views on policing is a significant responsibility for the Commissioner and Peter McCall is keen to make sure that communities get the opportunity to meet him. It is also one of his key objectives in the county’s Police and Crime Plan.

Peter McCall explains: “I am really keen to speak to as many people as possible across the county, as I have found it a really valuable experience in the past, and helps give me a real feel for what people are experiencing out in our communities. It also helps me get a sense of what people see as the policing priorities in their local areas.

“Holding surgeries such as these is just one of the ways that I engage with members of the public, and I urge people to take the opportunity to come along for a chat. I really want to get out in the community to hear for myself what the issues are and how policing can help.”

No appointment is necessary.
